Microline Oscilloscope Probe, 1.2 m Cable Length, 500 MHz Bandwidth
Introduction:
Active voltage probes provide digital phosphor oscilloscopes and other instrumentation the ability to faithfully acquire real time signal information from today's high-speed designs. Active probes provide a wide signal acquisition bandwidth and ensure reduced device under test (DUT) loading. An active probe is the best choice when your application involves high impedance, high frequency circuit elements that demand minimal loading.
FET Probes include active components (field effect transistors or other active devices) rather than passive components. The FET input results in a higher input impedance without loss of signal, i.e. low input capacitance (typically <0.4 pF to <2.0 pF) and high input resistance values (typically > 100 kΩ). Some FET probes include an offset control that allows a substantial increase in the active probe's linear dynamic range. Since FET probes have a 50 Ω output impedance, they can drive a 50 Ω cable. This capability allows the distance from the probe tip to the instrument to be increased within the practical limits of the probe amplifier system and the limitations of the coaxial cable.
